New Puppy!

Well, yesterday at 10:30am, our puppy landed at LAX.  We picked him up from the airport and signed all the paperwork and brought him home.  He's adorable!  He likes chew toys, but he prefers to just chew on the tags attached to things.

As promised in the last entry, I took my Reliv shake in the morning before we left.  That shake woke me up and gave me the energy to keep me awake and to carry that puppy from the airport to the car, through the car trip, and into the house.  I was also able to keep myself going through the rest of the day, including karaoke with friends until 2am.  Granted, I had other food throughout the day, but that shake was a great start to the day.  By contrast, I haven't had my shake yet (as I'm writing this post), and I can really feel it.  Once I get this adorable puppy off my lap, I'll go make myself that shake.

The thing I'm most thankful for is the fact that my schedule is so free that I can be home for this little puppy.  I have school on Monday and Wednesday afternoon to evening, and Reliv meetings Tuesday evenings.  Shortly after I leave, my mom comes home and can help take care of the puppy, and the time in between my grandma will be watching him.  I'm also continuing to work on my own company to perform elementary school assemblies (for more information, check out our website here), and our meetings take place in my home on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I can keep an eye on him.  If I had to juggle a full-time job, there would be no way that I could take care of this dog.  But because I'm working for home and becoming more and more functionally self-employed, I can be here a great deal of the time and not have to worry too much about money!

(I'll try to upload pictures soon, 'cause he's just so durn cute.)

Winding Down

Tomorrow morning, my family and I will be traveling to LAX to pick up a little Beagle puppy.  We just recently lost our dog, and my grandma needs a dog in her life, so the next day a little 10-month old Beagle had been selected, purchased, and arrangements were being made.

I've never owned a puppy before.  Every dog I've ever had has been at least a year old, so this will be an incredibly new experience for me.

As I sit here writing this blog, I'm tired.  I'll be staying up late tonight cleaning the carpet in the living room, clearing the trash and general disarray out of my bedroom, etc.  We'll be getting up early (for me) to get to LAX on time.  And from then on, we'll be dealing with an excited little ball of fur.  I'm excited, too, but I'm well aware that tomorrow I will be exhausted.

I say this as a means of checking in.  Tonight I am exhausted.  Tomorrow I drink my Reliv shake before I even attempt to do anything in my waking hours.  I'll check in tomorrow when I can tell how an early shake will help me out.

Jumping (Back) In

My current biggest problem seems to be that of consistency.  I'm able to be extremely dedicated to a certain task or goal for a few weeks or so, then it just kind of falls off.  That includes this blog, making Reliv calls, exercising in my down time, and numerous other projects I'm working on at the moment.  In the coming weeks, I'll be setting calendar alarms, scheduling my time a little better, and seeing if I can't find some better tips on how to manage my time and motivation a little bit better.

So a few updates are in order!

I have, officially, reached Master Affiliate level.  I ended up needing to borrow money from friends, and working out a payment plan to pay them back.  They personally believed in me, when my credit score was preventing banks from being able to do the same.  I ordered over 5000 in volume, which ended up costing somewhere in the realm of $3250, and it qualified me for Master Affiliate.  I now have a closet filled from top to bottom with Reliv boxes, organized by product.  I ordered products that my family is consuming, as well as what my distributors have been ordering for themselves.  Now, people just come to me, write me a check, and I give them the can.

The benefit of doing this, I have found, is that as soon as the check gets written, I have the profit from that sale (plus paying back the actual cost of the can), instead of waiting until the next Reliv pay period for them to send me my cut.  Also, I don't have to worry about ordering stuff too much in advance.  When I run out of something, I grab more from the box.  (When I run out of cans in the box, I'll reorder at that time.)

My work in October ended up netting me about $46 in profits.  Unfortunately, after that, life hit a little harder than I was expecting, and I fell out of the business a little bit.  I would mention Reliv off-hand to someone, but nothing as serious as I was doing before.  I did a little more work in December and made about the same amount.

This month, I've been trying to find a way to jump back in, waiting for my schedule to come into some kind of normalcy again.  Still, I've had people in my upline contacting me asking if I have any cans of this or that, so I've still managed to make a few sales without really doing anything!

As was brought up at a Reliv meeting last night, you'll always hear stories of the best parts of peoples' experiences in Reliv.  But really, anyone who has done this seriously knows that there are highs and there are lows, and you can't expect to be in one or the other forever.  But with Reliv you have two options: either you quit when things are going bad, or else you'll succeed.  There's really no way to fail at this unless you quit.  So I'm sticking it out and pushing through until I get myself back on track.

Something that will hopefully help with getting me back on track is the National Conference next weekend.  That's right, I'm flying out to Atlanta for a weekend of Reliv and general business workshops and classes, designed to reinvigorate my business.  I'll be hearing about the newest product Reliv is launching, and getting a great chance to network with people.  I just ordered 500 business cards through Vistaprint with a new look, updated information, and what I hope to be inspirational text throughout.  If you found this blog from one of my new cards, please shoot me an e-mail or leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Now join me in shaking off lethargy, apathy, and hopelessness, and let's get back to living life on our own terms!
